Black Box Testing

SIPTECH's experience ranges from usability and navigation testing of web based systems to API testing of technology platforms. We have not only tested the features of a system against its specification but also worked with our clients to validate the specification to ensure its comprehensiveness.

Key Benefits

  • Our experience with Java and Native coverage tools like Clover, JCov, and GCov ensures maximum coverage of all the features present in the system.

  • SIPTECH reduces testing effort from Black box test execution by identifying, customizing or developing automated test tools/harnesses.

  • SIPTECH adopts a knowledge driven approach to capture and retain the knowledge of the system under test and to optimize the testing process.

  • SIPTECH expertise in developing Java Compatibility and Technology Kits makes us the natural choice of many technology companies to develop their platform.

Credentials

SIPTECH has experience in varied forms of black box testing.

  • API testing: Sun Microsystems chose SIPTECH to test their Java Development Kit (JDK) and develop their Java Compatibility Kits (JCK) and Technology Compatibility Kits (TCK). The challenge before SIPTECH was two-fold - to ensure each public API is in compliance with its specification and that the specifications could be understood by the user. SIPTECH has contributed towards API testing of several Java API packages including Java2D, AWT, JAAS, JSSE, Java Security, JavaHelp, CORBA, JDBC etc.

  • Feature testing: SIPTECH helped validate the Zaplet collaborative platform (now a product of MetricStream) by developing and executing feature tests for them.

  • Scalability testing: SIPTECH validated the Zaplet Appmail system (now a product of MetricStream) to check it's scalability and recommend optimal tuning conditions for various scalability levels.

  • Usability Testing: SIPTECH did the end user testing for Elance, a web-based enterprise service supply solution. This involved testing the product based on the requirement specification and the user documentation.

  • SIPTECH is developing API tests based on technologies like Messaging and IMPS, Multimedia, DRM, OSGi, SynchML, Bluetooth etc for Motorola's next generation phones based on Java and Linux.
